Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim sent a message to ruling People's National Congress' (PNC) congress, stating the party's policies are the same as the "Madani framework" which was introduced by the PM.

Before he left Maldives yesterday after his state visit, PM Anwar sent a message to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The President read this message out loud during the ceremony to begin PNC's congress last night. He said that Anwar wanted to wait in Maldives so that he could join the ceremony.

"However, I had to leave because I have to attend a special ceremony in Malaysia tomorrow," read the President.

The President read Anwar's message out in English just as he wrote it. Anwar Ibrahim is the President of the People's Justice Party (PKR), the main party of Malaysia's ruling coalition.

In the message, Anwar said Malaysia will continue to share the experiences they have gained in various industries in their capacity as a trusted partner. He highlighted specific industries such as the production of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, halal economy and Islamic finance.

"In the capacity of the nation's top political institution, the efforts in building the nation in line with democratic guidelines, society, justice and Islamic spirit is the same as our Malaysia Madani framework," said Anwar.

He also said he hopes PNC will continue to work tirelessly in empowering citizens with moderate principles, all-round participation and maintaining fairness.

After reading out the message at congress, President Muizzu expressed his gratitude to Anwar on behalf of all PNC members.

Malaysia Madani is a framework introduced by PM Anwar in 2023 that includes many regulations used to take into account when drafting policies and providing services. According to the framework, six core values need to be taken into account when carrying out projects and providing services in Malaysia. The six core values are sustainability, prosperity, innovation, respect, trust and compassion.
