Aminath Shabeena, the non-resident ambassador appointed by the Maldives to Serbia, presented her letters of credence to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today.
The credential presentation ceremony was held this morning at the Palace Serbia in Belgrade.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that following the credential presentation ceremony, during a courtesy call on the country's president, Shabeena conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to the Serbian president.
According to the ministry, as the first ambassador appointed by the Maldives to Serbia, considering the growing close relations between the two countries, she gave full assurance that she will work to further strengthen that relationship.
Following the ceremony, Shabeena also attended a dinner hosted in honor of non-resident ambassadors appointed to Serbia by various countries by the country's Foreign Minister Marko Djuric. She also met with Jelena Markovic, Head of the Asia, Australia, and Pacific Department of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry stated that discussions were held during these meetings on further strengthening relations between the two countries in the fields of education, tourism, and trade.
