Mohamed Tholal, who held the position of Commissioner of Sports, has been appointed to a senior ministerial-level position at the President's Office, and a new individual was appointed today to the office's policy secretary position.

The President's Office stated tonight that Mohamed Tholal of G. Finivilu has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the President for Tertiary Health Services.

Ahmed Habeeb of GDh. Thinadhoo Shifa was appointed at ministerial level to the post of Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto.

While appointments were made to these two positions, the policy secretary post became vacant following the resignation of Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim from that position today.

The reason for the resignation of Nazim, who previously served as Health Minister, remains unclear so far.

Tholal, who was appointed to the tertiary health services position, previously held the post of Commissioner of Sports.

He has previously served as Senior Curriculum Developer at the Education Development Center, Assistant Director General and Director General at the Elections Commission, Technical Adviser to the Minister at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to the President's Office, Habeeb, who was appointed to the policy secretary position, previously served as General Manager of Villa Air. Habeeb, who has also served as State Minister at the Ministry of Housing, has held the positions of Manager at Villa Hakatha and Deputy Manager at Villa Air's Kaadedhdhoo Airport.

He has obtained a Master of Science in Project Management degree from Curtin University, Australia.
