President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated tonight that when imparting knowledge, there are ways in which one's tongue and pen should and should not be used.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Symposium for Young Khatibs held to mark the 900th anniversary of the Maldives embracing Islam, the President stated that it is a joy to see the increasing participation of youth in advancing Islam, and that there is vitality in the spirit and determination of the youth in this regard.

The President stated that knowledge is connected with wisdom, and that knowledge may not only be something gained from books, but could also be something gained from numerous experiences and other branches of knowledge.

Furthermore, President Muizzu stated that there are situations where one's tongue and pen should and should not move when imparting knowledge. The President also stated that there are ways in which one's tongue and pen should and should not operate.

"These things come from wisdom. With wisdom, religion is welfare," the President stated.

According to the President, his hope is that today's young khatibs will be tomorrow's scholars who guide people. He stated that he wishes for young khatibs to become tomorrow's intellectuals and people of wisdom.

"In illuminating the minds of society with the light of faith, the bright rays of your youth are immensely important," the President stated.

The President stated that young khatibs are beacons that will illuminate the Islamic environment of the entire Maldives, and that they are mentors who will bring freshness to Maldivian Islamic morals. He also stated that young khatibs are pillars that will shape intellectual minds in the future.

He further stated that his request is for young khatibs to be exemplary personalities in every aspect.
