The eighth International Teachers Conference began today in Hulhumale' with 300 participants.
The biennial conference, organized by the National Institute of Education (NIE), is being held today and tomorrow at Shaheed Ali School in Hulhumale'. It was opened by Vice-President Hussain Mohamed Latheef.

The Education Ministry said 300 people have registered for the conference, with 106 participants set to deliver 70 presentations.
Arun Rajamani, Managing Director of Cambridge University Press and Assessment for South Asia, and Dr Mahmood Shougee will deliver keynote speeches.
The first day will feature a panel discussion titled “Shaping a Responsible Digital Future for Education”. The second day’s panel discussion will focus on “Beyond Academics: Reimagining Education through Inclusion, Values, Relevance and Diverse Pathways”.
Four workshops will also be held for conference participants.

Schools including Gaafu Alifu Maamendhoo School, Muhyiddin School, Thaajuddeen School and Afeefuddin School will deliver presentations on inclusive education.
This year’s conference theme is “Reimagine, Rethink, Reform – Advancing Innovation for an Equitable and Resilient Future”.
The Teachers Conference was launched in 2012 to improve the quality of teaching, identify challenges in education and provide a platform for discussion.
The previous teachers’ conference was held in Malé in 2024.
