Heavy rain in Addu sees 30 houses in Feydhoo experience flooding, with one house being completely uninhabitable, said the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Regarding rain in the southern atolls of Maldives in a post on social media, the NDMA said that the authority has received reports from GA, GDh. Fuvahmulah and islands in Addu due to the varied degrees of damage from heavy rain since this morning, and that they are closely monitoring the situation.
The NDMA said they are collaborating with councils, the military and the police to drain water non-stop in the affected Addu islands.

According to the NDMA, there are reports of more than 30 homes in Addu Feydhoo that have been damaged due to flooding as of yet.
A house belonging to 8 people, two of which are persons with disabilities, has been flooded to the point where it is uninhabitable, with the NDMA working with the city council to provide the family with temporary housing and essential help, said the NDMA.
The Maldivian Meteorological (MET) Office's Yellow Alert for southern Maldives has been extended until 6:00pm. They announced an Orange Alert for Addu and Fuvahmulah for two hours this afternoon citing a forecast where flooding might occur due to rain.
The Orange Alert is a level three weather forecast alert from the MET Office. This alert is issued due to bad weather. The alert is rarely issued in Maldives.
