The 8th International Teachers' Conference 2026 is scheduled for this coming Saturday, with 300 teachers set to take part, said the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Skills Development.
The Teachers' Conference was started by the National Institute of Education in 2012 and is held once every two years in order to revive research culture amongst teachers and experts in the education industry.
The conference will be held from Saturday to Sunday at Shaheed Ali School, Hulhumale' Phase 2.
The Education Ministry said discussions at the conference will cover the difficulties faced by those working in the education industry and how they can be solved, and exchange ideas and share information on how education quality can be further improved.

According to the ministry, 300 people have registered to attend the conference, with 106 of them submitting 70 presentations during the conference. Keynote speeches will be given by Cambridge University Press and Assessment South Asian Managing Director Arun Rajamani and Maldives National University Chancellor Dr. Mahmoodh Shaugee.
The ministry said the first day of the conference will have a panel discussion called "Shaping a Responsible Digital Future for Education". The topic of the panel discussion on the second day is "Beyond Academics: Reimagining Education Through Inclusion, Values, Relevance and Diverse Pathways".
A total of four workshops will be held at the conference for those in attendance, with inclusive education presentations from GA. Maamendhoo School, Muhyiddin School, Thaajudeen School and Afeefuddin School.
The ministry went on to say that this year's conference will see experts in the education industry from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Egypt and Australia take part and share information on how to grow the education industry and build a strong education system.
