Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has said that 44 cases regarding waste disposal guideline violations and renting flats were reported in the last year or so.
As almost one year has passed since people living in the Fahi Flats, FDC posted on social media stating they received 44 reported cases about the flats.
This includes three cases of waste disposal guideline violations with fines being issued for two of the cases and one being investigated, said FDC.
FDC said there are 11 reported cases of flats being rented out, with 8 cases being investigated, notices being sent for 2 cases and a fine being issued for one case.
Even though rooms in the flats can be rented out, it is prohibited to rent out the entire apartment.

- Ignoring notices: 2 cases
- Noise complaints: 1 case
FDC went on to say that residents of 3,405 flats regularly pay their rent and that there are 509 flats that do not.
People began moving into the 4,000 flats that have been given out to the public under a housing scheme from former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration last year in October.
Waste disposal near the Fahi Flats has become an issue, with FDC having cleaned the area multiple times. Issues of the low-rent social housing flats being rented out have come to light previously as well.
