As part of Engineers Day activities, students from 164 schools across the country have been granted the opportunity yesterday to make site visits to the Thilamale' Bridge, power stations, and other development project sites. 

The visit began at 9am yesterday, with a large number of students from 164 schools participating.

The students visited power stations operated by Fenaka Corporation and STELCO, MWSC facilities, and infrastructural projects being carried out by MTCC. 

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development said that during the visit, engineering work at the sites were explained to the students, and they were given time to pose questions and make clarifications. 

Under this initiative, 45 students from CHSE and Male' Vocational High School visited the Thilamale' Bridge development site, the ministry said. 

The Thilamale' Bridge project is the largest infrastructure development project currently ongoing in the country. 

The purpose of the visit was to familiarize students with engineering and to foster interest in the field, the ministry said. 

Maldives' Engineers Day is marked annually on August 30, beginning this year.
