A foreigner accused of child sexual abuse has been arrested in a southern island. 

Police said today that the case concerns the sexual abuse of a 16 year old child in a southern island which was reported to authorities yesterday. 

A 42 year old foreign man has been arrested in relation to the case, according to police, although they did not disclose his nationality. 

Unconfirmed reports, however, suggest that the man may be from Bangladesh. 

Last week, a father was also arrested on a southern island for sexual abuse of his 13 year old daughter. In another such case, a second man was arrested for the sexual abuse of his 3 year old daughter, and for recording video footage of the abuse.
