Public feedback has been opened regarding the construction of a fishing platform as part of the coastal development project planned for the Beach Boulevard area in Hulhumalé 2.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is currently preparing an EIA, or Environmental Impact Assessment report, for the coastal development project proposed to be carried out in the Beach Boulevard area of Hulhumalé 2.

As gathering public opinion is mandatory in this regard, the agency opened the opportunity and stated that the purpose of the survey is to understand how the public, anglers, and swimmers currently use the beach, their concerns regarding the area's present condition, and their views on HDC's proposed artificial swimming area plan and fishing platform.

The EPA stated that there are no right or wrong answers in the survey, and that it remains open to opinions and criticism regarding the project.

Participants also retain the option not to answer every question included in the questionnaire.

According to the EPA, personal information will be collected solely to verify responses and share further details if needed. It noted that names and contact details will not be included in the final report, though the feedback will be utilized in compiling the EIA report.

The EPA added that as work progresses, plans may change subject to reviews, weather conditions, and various project-related factors.
