The Housing Ministry has stated that applicants for the government's first Male' area housing project will be given a 21-day window within which to correct information on their applications if any issues are found during the verification process. These 21 days will be counted from the date on which each applicant is notified.
The government is currently conducting verification of housing applications, ensuring that the information submitted tallies with existing government records and other inspections.
If there are any discrepancies in the form, the applicants are granted three weeks within which they can correct the information and submit supporting documents via the Boahiyaavahikan portal.
The government initially provided a 7 day window, which has since been extended to 21 days. Several applicants have now been notified of issues in their applications and advised to submit corrections. A text message is also sent to the phone numbers provided in the forms if a correction is required.
Housing Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib stated that the 21 day period is counted from the date on which the applicant is notified. He said that as the verification process proceeds, applicants are being notified of any corrections necessary.
The deadline for application for flats and land plots was June 15. By then, 58,505 forms were submitted via the Boahiyaavahikan portal. This includes 35,930 applications for flats and 22,575 applications for land plots.
State Minister for Housing Ahmed Nazim has previously said that the recipient list for flats and land plots will be released in mid-December this year. Nazim urged applicants to regularly check the portal as all notifications during the cross verification process would be sent via this.
If an applicants fails to respond to a notification or submit corrections within the given timeframe, then the application will be considered one that does not meet the criteria or an incomplete submission, the Housing Ministry has previously said.
7,900 flats and 15,000 land plots will be given out under this particular housing scheme.
