Although the departure of long-serving employees is a loss to the company, they leave behind a great legacy, stated the Managing Director of STELCO, Dr. Ali Azwar.

Speaking at a ceremony held to recognize the service of two long-serving employees upon their retirement from STELCO, Azwar stated that the departure of such experienced staff poses a major challenge for the company.

In that regard, Azwar noted that even if engines are added, new models are acquired, and buildings are renovated to foster development, the experience of such employees cannot be replaced.

"The experience of such individuals is a huge challenge for us to replace. The institutional memory these individuals carry with them is truly very important to a company, to an institution," the MD said.

"Just now, some speakers highlighted stories shared regarding the company's work based on the experience of senior staff in past matters. That institutional memory is extremely important to the company as a baseline in developing our various affairs and in attending to issues. That is a very important element we stand to lose," he said.

Azwar stated that despite this being the case, the employees who retired today are departing after leaving behind a great legacy. In that context, Dr. Azwar highlighted that these employees have taught many lessons to the younger generations who worked under them.

The two employees who retired today are Service Engineer Mohamed Manik, who served the company for the past 48 years, and Assistant Service Engineer Ahmed Maumoon (Maaroof), who served the company for 37 years.
