A father and son were injured in an accident that occurred in Hulhumalé Phase 2 yesterday, with the father's condition being serious.

Police said they received information at 7:44 AM yesterday regarding the accident, which took place at the four-way intersection connecting Heenaamaa Hingun and Dhumburigas Magu in Hulhumalé Phase 2.

Police stated that a 62-year-old man who was riding the motorcycle and a 24-year-old man who was on the back of the motorcycle sustained various injuries in the accident.

Both individuals are receiving treatment at Hulhumalé Hospital.

Among the two people injured in the accident, the father's condition is reported to be serious, and he is being treated in the ICU.

The incident occurred when a motorcycle and a car collided. Police are currently investigating this accident.

A nine-year-old child whose condition was serious following an accident near Vinares Flat 7 in Hulhumalé Phase 2 last Saturday night passed away today. The child who passed away in this accident was Ziva Sinan Ahmed, M. Lemontree 1, a Grade 4 student at Billabong High International School.

After reviewing CCTV footage of the area, police stated that the accident occurred when a motorcycle struck a person who was walking to get into a car parked near Vinares 7.
