MP Abdulla Ahmed and MP Mohamed Ameeth were arrested from the opposition rally on Monday night.
MP Abdulla was arrested while he was giving an interview to local news station Raajje TV while MP Ameeth was arrested near Jumhoory Party’s (JP) main hub.
The joint opposition has been protesting after the state refused to comply with the Supreme Court’s verdict on February 1 to reinstate parliament members and to release detained political leaders.
JP’s Women’s League President Waleedha Waleedh and Adhaalath Party’s national council member Thooba Rasheed were also arrested, according to both parties.
The joint opposition called on the immediate release of all those arrested from the rallies.
