Police have arrested two individuals from R. Maduvvari on suspicion of running a large-scale drug trafficking operation. 

The operation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Department in conjunction with Maduvvari Police and Counter Narcotics Intelligence. Through the operation, two individuals were arrested:

- Mohamed Muizzu, 27, of Bonthi, R. Maduvvari

- Adam Asim, 29, Thun'di, R. Maduvvari

The court has placed Muizzu in remand in custody for 10 days, and Asim for seven. 

Under the operation, Police searched seven residences on the island and detained seven individuals. All except two were later released. 

Drugs uncovered through the operation weighed 53.05g, Police said, confirming that the investigation is continuing.
