Maldives Zakat House has stated that proceeds from Zakat al-Mal in July are 44 percent higher compared to July 2025.

As per Zakat House's website, Zakat al-Mal in July 2026 saw a 44.2 percent increase, going up to MVR 17.37 million.

In July 2025, this figure was at MVR 12.04 million.

Zakat House said that this is an year-on-year increase of MVR 5.33 million.

They also said that while proceeds from Zakat-al Mal have increased, the Zakat Fund has seen MVR 2.80 million be issued this month, the biggest of which was MVR 1.75 million to the poor and needy.

For medical treatment, MVR 1.48 million has been issued, with MVR 115,250 for essential needs and MVR 155,950 for basic housing needs.

The Nisaab for Zakat-al-mal saw changes from the Zakat House this month as well.

Maldives Zakat House stated that as Zakat-al-mal is calculated based on the price of silver, from 20th August 2026, the Nisaab for Zakat-al-mal to become obligatory in the Maldives has been set at MVR 19,266.10, which equates to 595 grams of silver at the rate of MVR 32.38 per gram.
