The body of the woman deceased due to a gas leak in a Male' residence has been released to family today without a post mortem having been conducted.

A fire incident in a residence on Dhilkushaa Goalhi was reported to police at around 10:30 am last Thursday. Two people affected in the incident was transferred to the hospital, where one was pronounced dead on arrival. 

The deceased has been identified as Zahidha Thaufeeq, 51, of GA. Vilin'gili. 

Her body was being held at the mortuary while police investigated the incident. 

A police media official confirmed today that Zahidha's body has been released to family, and that no post mortem had been conducted. No further details were divulged. 

The other victim of the incident is Zahidha's 19 year old daughter. She is still under treatment at ADK Hospital, and her condition is reportedly improving.
