Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has stated today that the 9 year old victim of yesterday's accident near Vinares towers in Hulhumale' Phase 2 is in a critical condition. 

The accident occurred around 9pm last night. The child, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries. 

She was initially taken to the Hulhumale' Hospital, but was later transferred to IGMH for further care. 

An IGMH Media Official stated that the girl is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit and is on ventilator support. 

After viewing CCTV footage from the scene, Police said that the accident occurred when the motorcycle attempted to drive past an idling car and hit a pedestrian. 

The motorcycle was being driven by an 18 year old female, the aunt of the 9 year old girl. The driver also sustained varying levels of injuries and is being treated in hospital.
