Police are investigating a case involving two people allegedly engaging in a sexual intercourse on the balcony of a Hiyaa flat in Hulhumale' while visible to the public.

The balcony of a Hiyaa tower in Hulhumale' Phase 2 is visible from several neighboring towers.

Police began investigating after a video showing a man and woman allegedly engaging in a sexual act on the balcony of the 12th Hiyaa tower was shared on social media.

“Police received a video showing people engaging in sexual acts on the balcony of an apartment in the Hiyaa flats. Police are investigating the incident,” police said.

Public indecent acts are prohibited under Maldivian law.
