North Galolhu MP Mohamed Ibrahim (Kudu) has filed a police complaint after receiving information that he was at risk of being “physically harmed”.

During today's Maldivian Democratic Party's (MDP) Parliamentary Group press briefing, MP Mohamed said that he received information that someone was going to physically harm both him and Raajje TV's Head of Programs Amir Saleem, with a police complaint being filed yesterday. He said that it was filed because he received the information from a trusted source.

"I received information from a trusted source that both I and Raajje TV's Amir were going to be physically harmed, so I sent a letter to the police yesterday at 1:43 pm. I have not received a response yet as the 24 hour mark approaches," said Ibrahim.

He expressed concern that if the police do not respond to such a complaint by an MP of Parliament, one of the three state powers, he worries how long the police take to answer complaints from the general public.

MP Ibrahim is one of the most active MPs in Parliament. He is known for submitting issues as they arise, questioning ministers and submitting amendments for acts and bills.
