The deadline granted to applicants for the government's flat and land plot schemes whose applications were flagged with conflicting information during the verification phase has been extended to 21 days.

Initially, a seven-day period was given upon notification to rectify the information.

However, in an announcement made this afternoon, the Housing Ministry stated that to provide further ease to applicants, it has been decided to extend that deadline to 21 days.

Therefore, the Housing Ministry said that within this period, applicants will have the opportunity to clarify information and submit relevant documents through the Boahiyaavahikan Portal. This period is provided for applicants to respond to issues raised regarding their forms, or to state and respond if there are any objections.

When the deadline to apply for land plots and flats in the Malé region expired on June 15, a total of 58,505 forms were submitted to the "Boahiyaavahikan Portal" established for submitting applications. This includes 35,930 forms applying for flats and 22,575 forms applying for land plots.

The verification process for these forms has commenced, and relevant authorities are confirming whether the information submitted for land plots and flats is accurate.

State Minister for Housing Ahmed Nazim Mohamed told "Mihaaru News" today that during the verification phase of the forms, if discrepancies are found in the information stated in the application forms when compared with the information submitted and the data sent to the ministry by government agencies and councils, applicants are currently being notified through the Boahiyaavahikan Portal.

Information regarding changes coming to applications on the portal is also being sent via SMS to the mobile number shared when the applicant completed the form.

The Housing Ministry previously stated that if no response is submitted for the flagged issue within the period provided by the ministry, the application will be considered ineligible or incomplete.
