The ministry has begun informing applicants of this government's first housing project, the “Boahiyaavahikan Emmenah” (Housing for All) scheme, if their information does not match during the ongoing verification stage.

Applicants will be given seven days to correct and resubmit their information.

Under the “Boahiyaavahikan Emmenah” scheme, the application period for plots and flats in the Greater Male' region closed on June 15. A total of 58,505 applications were submitted through the Boahiyaavahikan Portal, including 35,930 applications for flats and 22,575 for plots.

The relevant administrations have begun their form verification stage and are currently confirming the legitimacy of the information provided in the plot and flat applications.

Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development State Minister Ahmed Nazim Mohamed has stated that with the ongoing form verification stage, they will compare the information that has been submitted and the information sent from government administrations and councils to the ministry. He said that if the information provided in the forms do not match, the ministry will let the applicants know via the portal.

He highlighted that the information can be corrected from the portal. The ministry has previously announced that they will give such applications seven days to be rectified.

The announcement reads that if an applicant wishes to respond to or object to an issue on the form, they will have a 7-day period to issue an explanation or submit a response.

The ministry said that applicants will only be able to respond via the portal within the seven days. The ministry said it will not accept responses submitted by email, letter or any other means.

If the notice in the portal states that the information that was provided is not legitimate, the applicant can submit the relevant details and documents. The ministry said applicants will be notified of any changes or updates to their applications through the portal via SMS to the mobile number provided in their application.

If there is no response to the issue highlighted within the 7-day period, the application will be deemed to not have its requirements fulfilled or having a lack of submitted documents.

If an application has been submitted to a category where their requirements are not met, the applicant will not be able to apply for a different category. They will only be able to correct any information on the submitted application if there is a mismatch.

The government has designated the allocation of flats as follows: 4,000 flats for registered residents of Male', 1,500 flats for individuals living in Male' who are not registered residents, and an additional 2,400 flats allocated for special categories.

As flat projects have been awarded to various companies and as some projects have already started, the government stated that said projects will be completed and handed over in the middle of 2028.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said the government has decided to allocate 25,000 land plots from Rasmale', which is currently being reclaimed as part of efforts to address the housing shortage. However, only 15,000 plots will be issued in the first phase.
