Ibrahim Shiuree today resigned from the post of Managing Director of Visit Maldives, which was created to promote tourism in the Maldives.
Shiuree was appointed to the company, previously run under the name MMPRC, on June 13, 2024. The reason for his resignation from the position remains unclear. However, before resigning, he met with the company's employees today.
Prior to assuming the position of Managing Director of Visit Maldives, Shiuree served as the Vice President of the TT Association. Having also worked as a steering committee member for the World Bank's "Enhancing Employability and Resilience of Youth" project, Shiuree has led numerous other projects.
Recipient of both the National Award and the Youth Award, Shiuree served as Director of Projects and Infrastructure at a private company and led various airport development projects. These include the Fuvahmulah Airport project, Dharavandhoo Airport, Ifuru Airport, Kooddoo Airport, Kudahuvadhoo Airport, and the Kulhudhuffushi Airport project.
Shiuree holds a Master's degree in Business Administration in Public Relations and Communication from Limkokwing University in Malaysia.
