Yazmeed Mohamed, who was newly appointed to the position of CEO of the Pension Office, has said that he will make the Pension Fund a fund that is managed safely and sustainably.
Yazmeed assumed the responsibilities of the position today upon being appointed as CEO of the Pension Office while serving as President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's member at the Judicial Service Commission.
Speaking at a ceremony at the Pension Office today to welcome Yazmeed, he pledged to ensure the Pension Fund is managed safely and sustainably.
He said all affairs of the Pension Office would be organised towards achieving that goal.
He also said that he will work to make the Pension Office a modern, robust, productive, and exemplary institution that has the full trust of the public.
Highlighting that employees play the most important role in achieving these goals, Yazmeed said that he will not let any employee feel discouraged and will facilitate opportunities with equality and fairness for all employees.
The position of CEO at the office managing pension affairs became vacant when Sujatha Haleem, who previously fulfilled those responsibilities, resigned last February.
She resigned at a time when many in the economic sector were criticizing the Pension Office's investment in a MVR 2.4 billion bond sold to the government.
