Two men have been arrested in Hulhumale; on suspicion of possessing, using and selling liquor.

The suspects were identified as Mohamed Mubarik, 32, Ranivilla, Lhaviyani Naifaru, and Hassan Gasim, 23, Sailuge, Lhaviyani Naifaru.

Police said the men were arrested during a targeted patrol on Friday night following reports of suspected drug trade.

The suspects were stopped and searched in the Kanneli Jetty (fishing pier) area of Hulhumale' Phase 1. Police said 24 bottles of liquor were recovered from the men.

Mubarik was remanded in custody for 15 days, while Gasim was remanded for five days after both were produced in court for remand hearings.
