Strong winds caused a coconut palm tree to collapse in S. Hithadhoo today, leading to a narrow escape for several individuals.

When the incident occurred at 6:00 PM, a man and a child were on a motorcycle, but no one was injured, according to the person who shared the video.

In a video circulating on social media posted by an individual named Milo Nahum, a car driving at a slow speed in Hithadhoo can be seen going straight as a motorcycle turns in from the street ahead.

The tree falls completely just as the motorcycle reaches what appears to be the front of a shop on that street. Following this, young coconuts attached to the tree scatter, and the motorcycle can be seen swerving to one side from the impact.
