Physical work on the new Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) building will begin later this year, Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu has said.
The Minister told PSM that efforts are currently underway to approve drawings in order to start work on the new CHSE building.
The project to construct a new seven-story building for CHSE was awarded to Yes Maldives Private Limited last February.
CHSE is the only government-run school providing A-Level education in the Malé area. As the school's original building in Malé, opened in 1979, had deteriorated, a new building was constructed in Hulhumalé during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration, and the use of the Malé building was discontinued.
However, this government later resumed using that building.
