British Islamic scholar Sheikh Abu Taymiyyah has arrived in Maldives to host a lecture and a set of religious activities.
This program is titled "Enlighten", and was organized by the Mahaldheeb Foundation.
The foundation said that Abu Taymiyyah will spend nine days in Maldives.

While his special program is set to include religious and educational activities, it is mainly aimed at the youth and adolescents, said the foundation.
The religious programs will be held in Male', Addu and Fuvahmulah. The Sheikh's programs will begin today in Male'.
The foundation stated that various meetings, exclusive dinner and coffee with the youth and different programs have been arranged for university and school students.

Sessions in collaboration with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, a public lecture, a Friday sermon, sports activities with the youth, an exclusive session for women, television and podcast recordings and a special meeting with Maldivian scholars will be held.
Abu Taymiyyah will be traveling to Addu on Sunday, where he will visit Addu High School and meet with some of the school's owners and students, with a public lecture to be held with the assistance of the Addu City Council.

The Sheikh will be visiting Fuvahmulah on Monday, where a session will be held at Fuvahmulah School, a meeting with the youth will be held, a public lecture will be held with the assistance of the Fuvahmulah City Council, along with a day for tourism experiences and swimming activities in Fuvahmulah.
Sheikh Abu Taymiyyah will depart from Maldives on 27th August.
The Sheikh is a graduate from the Islamic University of Madinah, and has studied in countries such as Yemen and Egypt.
