Maldives Customs has seized 3.2kg of cannabis that was allegedly being smuggled into Maldives through the postal service.
Customs said the drugs were seized on Saturday during a search of a post package suspected of containing drugs.
The seizure is the latest in a series of drugs intercepted as authorities step up efforts to prevent narcotics from being smuggled into the country.
On May 5, Customs searched the luggage of an Indian passenger who arrived in the Maldives from India on suspicion of carrying drugs and seized about 500g of cannabis.
On July 29, authorities also seized a large quantity of drugs that was allegedly being smuggled into the Maldives by sea.
