The case of the employee who leaked information from the mobile application used in the Malé Taxi Line service has been submitted to the police for investigation.
MTCC's Managing Director Ahmed Saudhee told "Mihaaru News" today that the information was leaked by an employee. He also stated that the employee has been suspended from their responsibilities and the case has now been submitted to the police for investigation.
Saudhee stated that the logs clearly show the employee committed the act.
In a statement released last night, MTCC stated that changes were made to the information in the taxi app's backend database system, and screenshots of the information were taken and leaked with the intention of achieving a personal and political motive.
MTCC said that upon the company's ICT network security team noticing the changes made to the backend database system, the system was immediately shut down and placed under a security lockdown.
However, since this was not an incident caused by an external attack on the application's firewall, MTCC stated that customers will continue to receive taxi services without any difficulties.
