A website providing easy access to court decisions in Maldives has been launched.

The website, named Sariyaiy, was launched by High Court Justice Abdul Maniu Hussain. It currently contains several thousand decisions from the High Court and Supreme Court.

The website is free to use after registration and includes an artificial intelligence-powered search function. Users can enter details of a specific incident or legal issue, and the system will retrieve relevant decisions and conclusions.

Sariyaiy was launched following one and a half years of development and is the first website in the Maldives designed to provide such easy access to court decisions.

The website also allows users to view decisions issued by individual judges of the higher courts separately. Each decision includes a brief summary of the legal principles considered in the case.

Decisions can also be searched and categorized by case type, legal rules and court.

At present, the website contains decisions from the Supreme Court and High Court, while decisions from lower courts are being added. The project also includes digitizing and publishing older High Court decisions that are currently available only in paper records.
