A house in Male' was damaged by a fire that broke out in an electrical socket on Sunday.

No one was injured in the incident.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a report of the fire at around noon at a house in Galolhu Crab Tree on Lonuziyaarai Magu.

The fire was extinguished approximately 20 minutes after firefighters arrived at the scene, MNDF said.

MNDF also released photographs of the incident.

Earlier, another fire broke out in the living room of a seventh-floor apartment in G Fahivai on Bodurasgefaanu Magu.

Four people living in that apartment were provided with temporary accommodation by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The cause of the fire in the apartment is being investigated.
