President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conferred the National Award of Honor on three individuals and one organization, and the National Award of Recognition on eight individuals and one company.
The awards were presented at the official National Day ceremony held in Haa Alifu Utheemu.
The National Award of Honour was conferred on:
- Mohamed Amir Ahmed – for contributions to Dhivehi language and literature
- Ibrahim Rasheed – for contributions to construction and architecture
- Society for Health Education (SHE) – for contributions to the health sector
- Najuma Hussain – for contributions to news and information dissemination
The National Award of Recognition was conferred on:
- Uz Hawwa Latheef – for raising awareness of Islam, service to the faith and religious education
- Mohamed Naseer – for contributions to Dhivehi language and literature
- Command Sergeant Major Abdulla Saeed – for contributions to Maldivian history
- Mohamed Ahmed – for contributions to the health sector
- Bison Maldives Pvt Ltd – for contributions to construction and architecture
- Arushad Ahmed – for contributions to communications and information technology
- Aishath Naura – for contributions to sports
- Ismail Abdul Ghafoor – for contributions to visual arts
The National Award of Recognition was also conferred posthumously in memory of the late Ihusan Abdul Ghanee.
The recipients were selected by the National Awards Committee, established by the President.
Recipients of the National Award of Honor were presented with a shield of honor, a badge of honor and a commemorative certificate.
Recipients of the National Award of Recognition received a plaque of recognition and a commemorative certificate.
