Island Aviation has announced once more that they are seeking a company to expand Dharavandhoo Airport's passenger terminal.

As per their announcement last night, interested parties who want to develop Dharavandhoo Airport's terminal can apply for the project, which is under contractor financing, before 18th August, 11:59 pm.

The announcement further reads that they will only accept proposals from the companies who apply for the project, with the deadline for the proposals being 10th September.

The project is to be completed within 18 months of it starting. Island Aviation stated that before a contractor is selected, they will be prioritizing parties that have completed such projects previously or if they have completed projects worth more than MVR 50 million.

Island Aviation initially announced they were seeking a company for the development of the terminal in May.

Dharavandhoo Airport was opened 14 years ago on 17th October 2012, with it being constructed by Coastline Hotels and Resorts. More than 8 flights land at the airport daily. Most people utilize the airport to reach the resorts and guesthouses in the region where they spend their vacations.

Island Aviation was awarded the project to further develop the airport on 1st April.
