Police have called on drivers to avoid stopping on the Sinamale' Bridge to wear raincoats or answer phone calls. 

Police shared a video showing a large group of people stopping near the traffic lights on the Hulhumale' highway to wear raincoats. With the video, Police shared a message warning that stopping on the highway for any reason, including wearing raincoats or answering phone calls, has previously led to dangerous road accidents. 

Police urged motorists against making abrupt stops on the highway to avoid accidents and ensure road safety for everyone.

Recent days have seen adverse weather conditions across the country. Road accidents are also prone to increase during rainy conditions, with swell waves also having previously caused incidents. 

The MET Office forecast warns of windspeeds of between 10 to 20mph, with gusts of 40mph.
