President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated today that the government remains committed to facilitating meaningful employment and opportunities for youth. 

In a post on X on the occasion of International Youth Day, the President said that youth are a key driving force of the country. 

The youth's creativity, resilience and determination play an important role in nation building, the President said. 

President Muizzu noted that youth account for 45 percent of Maldives' population and reflected that the hopes of the youth are related to the nation's future. He reiterated that the government remains committed to paving the path for increased opportunities for young persons. 

"This administration is committed to continuing creating more opportunities for higher education opportunities, skills development opportunities and meaningful employment," the President said. 

President Muizzu also emphasized that programmes such as the National Apprenticeship Programme and National Service Programme will strengthen pathways from education to employment. 

"I am confident that, in the hands of our youth, the present as well as the future of the Maldives will be one of prosperity, resilience and sustainable development," he noted.
