President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the "PGO 2.0", meant to change the Prosecutor General (PG) Office's work to a digital system.
President Muizzu inaugurated "PGO 2.0" at a ceremony held this morning at Barceló Nasandhura.
PGO 2.0 began under a special two-year digital transformation policy, and is a project meant to change all of the work done by the PG Office from paper to a digital system.
According to the PG Office, prosecutors will be doing their work with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) under this project, with case research capabilities increasing many times over.
The PG Office said that AI will help expedite administrative tasks, assess evidence and will save time for prosecutors in preparing legal documents.
The PG Office went on to say that even though AI may offer ease of work, the final decisions will be made by the prosecutors themselves, and that the purpose of using AI as an aid is to increase service quality on the part of the prosecution.
During the ceremony, the "Evidence: A Practitioner Guide" book based on the Evidence Act was published by the PG Office's academy.
The PG Office's new website and public service mobile applications "E-Dhoroashi" and "Lethun" were also inaugurated during the ceremony. The mobile application provides all of the legal acts in Maldives, guidelines, regulations, court rulings and English translations.
