StatePharma has held a discussion with Villa College in order to train pharmacists.

A StatePharma media official said that both parties discussed how pharmacists can be trained and how students in the industry can be increased.

The official stated the discussion also included how graduates can be offered employment opportunities with both sides in cooperation. 

"The discussion talked about working together with Villa College about a refresher course for those who work in the industry. The company's doors will always be open for the Maldivian youth," said the official.

Villa College currently has pharmacy courses at various levels.

STO was previously in charge managing government pharmacies regarding the medication Maldives requires. However, all pharmacies have since been brought under the purview of StatePharma, which was created last year.

With that, there are efforts being conducted with relevant industries to solve the issue of a lack of pharmacists.
