The "My Career Portal", which is meant to provide career development services, employee hiring system and Maldives job market under one roof, has been inaugurated today.
The ceremony was held at Customs and was inaugurated by Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology Ali Ihusaan.
The Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology said the main purpose of creating such a purpose is to connect those seeking employment, employers and career advisors, to strengthen Maldives' employment industry and to establish a convenient system.
Contents of the portal:
- Career Guidance: Connecting those seeking employment with trained councilors, determining goals, providing individualized guidance and making arrangements in monitoring action plans for the growth of the employment industry.
- Career Pathway Designer: The creation of a roadmap that will foster growth under the guidance of relevant experts in order to achieve long-term career goals.
- Milestone Tracker: A visible chart that shows the individual's level of education, training and work experience. This will allow them to see their achievements and easily identify skills for growth.
- Connecting people with jobs: Announcing job opportunities, automatically presenting jobs according to an individual's skills, and will both expedite and convenience those in the job application stage.
The Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology said this was an effort by the National Careers Service (NCS) and that it was funded with the aid of "sales" project from the World Bank.
The ministry stated those seeking employment and employers can now make use of the portal by going to www.mycareer.gov.mv.
The ministry also said this was an effort under the policy to create jobs prioritizing for Maldivians, and in line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's presidential pledge toward Maldives 2.0 in the establishment of a capable, skilled and hardworking generation.
