The HDh. Kulhudhuffushi City Council signed an agreement yesterday to give MVR 100,000 to each of the island's schools.
The council grants yearly financial support to their schools, with three of their schools to receive funding this year as well. The schools are HDh. Atoll Education Center, Afeefuddin School and Jalaluddin School.
The Kulhudhuffushi City Council said they announced the grants in order to achieve the objectives outlined by the school proposals.
The main purpose of introducing school grants is to develop the resources of all schools on the island which will lead to better quality schools, said the council.
Additionally, the council said this is being done to aid school activities for the growth of their students, to offer their cooperation and aid for the PTA's efforts in acquiring funds for the schools growth.
The council has given MVR 100,000 to each school under the grant in 2024 and 2025 as well. The city council also gave MVR 50,000 to each school in 2022.
