The Scout Association of Maldives and Majeediyya Scout Group have concluded the Youth Leadership Training Course, held in Male' from 4 to 8 August.
Hosted by the First Male' Scout Group at the Youth Hub, the course brought together 50 participants aged between 17 and 25, including both scouts and non-scouts.
The programme was designed to strengthen young people's ability to participate in organizational decision-making and leadership roles.
Participants learned about youth decision-making structures at different levels and developed skills in leadership, communication, teamwork and ethical decision-making through team-based projects.
The closing ceremony was attended by Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the Maldives, Yahya bin Hassan Al-Qahtani. Speaking at the ceremony, Qahtani said young people were essential to national development and that investing in youth through leadership programmes could benefit the country in many ways.
The course was conducted with support from the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness and Dhiraagu, which served as the programme's digital partner.
The programme was funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with World Scouting and the World Scout Foundation through the Messengers of Peace Fund.
Under the fund, the Scout Association of Maldives is implementing a project titled "Youth Leadership and Membership Growth", which will include Youth Leadership camps across the Maldives.
