Ambassador of Maldives to Qatar Adam Shareef Umar has presented his Letter of Credence to the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani today at a ceremony held at Lusail Palace in Doha. 

At the meeting, Adam Shareef extended greetings from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and the government and people of Maldives to the Emir and people of Qatar, the Foreign Ministry said. 

The Ambassador expressed appreciation for Qatar's longstanding support for the Maldives' development efforts and reaffirmed Maldives' commitment to strengthening the partnership through expanded high-level engagement and broader cooperation. 

The Emir wished the Ambassador success in his duties and expressed confidence that bilateral relations between the Maldives and Qatar would continue to deepen during his tenure, a statement from the Foreign Ministry said. 

Second Secretary of the Embassy of Maldives in Qatar, Mohamed Thahseen, accompanied the Ambassador to the meeting.
