MVR 8 mn given in April for treatment at private hospitals

As per the statistics that have been publicized by the agency, MVR 3.6 million had been given out in April for treatment at ADK Hospital and Tree Top Hospital.

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has stated that MVR 8 million has been given out via the government's free aid program to those who have had difficulties in making medical payments that have gone to private hospitals in Maldives to be admitted and sought treatment.

As per the statistics that have been publicized by the agency, MVR 3.6 million had been given out in April for treatment at ADK Hospital via the medical welfare program for patients who have been admitted to and treated by private hospitals in Maldives. NSPA said that MVR 4.6 million was given out as aid via Tree Top Hospital for treatment.

Of the treatments at ADK Hospital, the highest amount of aid was toward ENT treatments, with MVR 608,381 for 23 patients. Miscellaneous treatments saw MVR 585,731 in aid for 21 patients. Bone disease treatments saw MVR 552,961 in aid for 27 patients, according to the statistics from NSPA.

Via AD Hospital, NSPA has provided financial aid for 16 cardiovascular cases, 12 respiratory disease patients and 31 child birth cases. Financial aid was also provided for diseases affecting women, spinal/nerve diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, diseases affecting children, kidney diseases and cancer patients.

While Tree Top Hospital was given more than MVR 4 million in financial aid, the highest was for bone disease treatment, with MVR 1.2 million in financial aid for 51 patients. As for miscellaneous treatment at Tree Top Hospital, MVR 627,666 in financial aid was given by NSPA for 51 patients.

The third highest amount in financial aid from NSPA for patients treated at Tree Top Hospital was for child birth, with MVR 605,552 in aid for a total of 40 patients.

NSPA has given a substantial amount in financial aid via the hospital toward ENT treatments, diseases affecting women, diseases affecting children and gastrointestinal diseases.
