The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together to prevent corruption and improve transparency.
The agreement was signed by ACC President Adam Shamil on behalf of the commission, while STELCO Managing Director Ali Azwar signed on behalf of the company.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on identifying and strengthening measures to prevent corruption and promote transparency.
The MoU includes opportunities for STELCO employees to participate in training programmes, as well as cooperation in implementing recommendations and guidance issued by the ACC to strengthen anti-corruption measures.
ACC will provide support for workshops and seminars aimed at improving the integrity of STELCO employees. The commission has also agreed to provide relevant documents and information when required and assist in facilitating employee participation in investigations.
The agreement also includes establishing anti-corruption policies within STELCO and prioritizing ACC recommendations when developing company policies to reduce corruption risks.
Both parties will also exchange technical expertise and share resources as part of their joint efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability.
