With the decision to close the section of Ameenee Magu from Izzudheen Magu up to Dharumavantha Hospital for repair work on Ameenee Magu, MTCC stated today that bus services to the bus stops near IGMH, Dharumavantha Hospital, and the Social Centre have been suspended.
For the repair work on Segment 1 of Ameenee Magu, the area from Izzudheen Magu up to Dharumavantha Hospital on Ameenee Magu has been decided to be closed to public transport starting from 12:00 tonight.
In connection with this change, the police have brought changes to the traffic flow.
MTCC stated that instead of stopping at the Dharumavantha bus stop, trips on the R10 Orchid Route under their RTL bus service will now stop at the bus stop near West Park.
Until the repair work on Ameenee Magu is completed, R10 route buses will not stop at the Social Centre, IGMH, and Dharumavantha Hospital bus stops.
MTCC stated that bus services on the R11 route will also be suspended until the work is completed. Furthermore, the final destination in Malé for the R1, R3, R7, and R15 routes will be the Maafannu Bus Terminal, and due to this change, buses on those routes will not stop at the Food Court, Dharumavantha, and West Park until the roadwork is finished, MTCC added.
According to the police, as the completion date after starting the road construction work tomorrow is the 28th of this month, the road will remain closed until that day.
The asphalt layer on various parts of the asphalt-paved Ameenee Magu has peeled off, causing large potholes to form on the road. Therefore, the work to repair the road was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of Urban Development on June 15.
