The traffic flow to Ameenee Magu has seen some changes as renovation work on the street is set to begin tomorrow.
Police said as the first segment in renovating Ameenee Magu is set to begin, the area will see a traffic flow change from 12:00 am tonight.
As per the police, the section of Ameenee Magu from Izzudheen Magu in front of Voice of Maldives (Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu) until the park near Dharumavantha Hospital will be closed off.
With this change, gaining access to Ameenee Magu from Izzudheen Magu will not be possible.
According to the police, the renovation work will begin tomorrow and will end on 28th August, with the road being closed until then.
As there is a change to the traffic flow, the police have requested that all vehicles parked in the area be removed before 12:00 am tonight, and have apologized for any inconvenience this may cause to the public.

The area of Ameenee Magu being closed off is a bus route that travels to both the hospital and West Park. The bus route changes have not been announced as of yet.
The police have released a chart for the sections closed off for four-wheeled vehicles and other vehicles specifically.
Various parts of Ameenee Magu that have already been asphalted have sections which have been lifted, along with large potholes as well. The work to repair the road was awarded to MTCC on 15th June by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development.
MTCC completed the required survey efforts last week before the renovation begins.
The work to modernize Ameenee Magu was handed over to the Road Development Corporation (RDC) by former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's government, with the work commencing in July 2022. The project was split into phases but did not see completion when the government's term came to an end, with the final phase having been completed in early 2024 and opened to the public.
Parts of the road that had been asphalted had degraded heavily, with some parts being repaired last year. The section of the road that saw the latest repair, which was from the Voice of Maldives until Boduthakurufaanu Magu, is damaged now. Bumps in the asphalt has posed risk to motorists along that stretch of road for some time now.
