MTCC has stated that three pumps to drain floodwater will be installed on Boduthakurufaanu Magu by the end of August. 

MTCC said that the installation of pumps is included in the Boduthakurufaanu Magu redevelopment project contracted to them by the government. They said that although the road has been opened for public use, there are some works still pending as announced earlier. 

MTCC said that they are targeting to complete installation of the three pumps by August 15. 

The company assured that if current weather patterns cause flooding on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, their teams will work on deflooding. 

Boduthakurufaanu Magu is being redeveloped under several phases. As such, the stretch of the road from the Henveiru Ferry Terminal to Izzuddeen Jetty was recently completed and opened for public use last Friday. 

MTCC will next begin work on redeveloping the section of Boduthakurufaanu Magu from the MPL area to the Tsunami Bina Maizaan, with the work expected to reach completion by November end.
