Ministry of Finance has invited bids to supply, install and maintain a robotic surgical system for the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
In an announcement, the ministry said interested parties must register before 10 August to participate in the procurement process for a multi-port robotic surgical system.
The registration fee is MVR 1,500 or USD 100.
Registered bidders must submit their proposals through the government's tender portal by 12 August. Bid opening is scheduled for 1:00pm on 13 August.
A multi-port robotic surgical system is a minimally invasive surgical platform that uses multiple small incisions to insert a three-dimensional high-definition camera and specialized robotic instruments into a patient's body.
The technology is commonly used in urological, gynecological, general and thoracic surgery, allowing surgeons to perform complex procedures with greater precision through minimally invasive techniques.
The procurement comes as IGMH continues to expand its surgical services. The hospital has recently introduced new procedures, including bariatric (weight-loss) surgery and advanced orthopedic surgery using modern medical equipment.
