A pedestrian was injured after a tile fell from a building and struck him Wednesday morning.

Police said the incident occurred in the Maafannu Boduthakurufaanu Magu but did not disclose which building it was.

The victim, a 41-year-old Bangladeshi man, was taken to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.

Police did not disclose the extent of his injuries.

However, Mihaaru News has learned that the man sustained a serious head injury and lost his eyesight in the incident.

Police are investigating the case.
